The Topic of Political Philosophy of Russian Emigration in Academic Disciplines in the Major of International Relations
The article examines the relevance and value of the political philosophy of the Russian emigration, mainly its first wave, for teaching university courses in international relations. It is no secret that in modern Russia, the study and teaching of the theory and history of international relations is largely based on the models and patterns of Western political science. This is largely a natural phenomenon, as the criteria of the humanities in the Soviet era have largely proven to be ineffective. At the same time, the rich legacy of Russian emigration, including its political philosophy, remains largely unclaimed. The use of this legacy allows us to enrich and significantly adjust the existing methodological approaches and specific techniques for studying and teaching international relations in our country. Moreover, the application of the most meaningful and valuable ideas of Russian émigré philosophers is relevant and justified, as the thinkers of the Russian diaspora generally did not forget about Russia's strategic interests and took into account the complexity of its development paths. At the same time, the authors advocate a very balanced and well-thought-out approach to the application of the legacy of the political philosophy of the Russian Diaspora, as it is necessary to take into account the ambiguity and, to a large extent, the contradictions of its existing developments. Only a careful, creative and critical approach to the rich experience of the Russian Diaspora can yield truly positive results in its application in university teaching.
