Russian philosophy as a value-semantic basis for the course «Fundamentals of Russian Statehood»
The article substantiates the need to ground the course “Fundamentals of Russian Statehood” in the profound intellectual tradition of Russian thought in order to form a coherent picture of Russia’s civilisational identity. It reveals the considerable worldview potential of Russian philosophy, with particular emphasis on its quest for answers concerning the meaning of life, the spiritual essence of the human being, and the creative vocation of humanity as a cosmic architect. The author argues that the spiritual and moral foundation expounded in the works of Russian religious philosophers should become the core of the future Russia. The Russian philosophical tradition is considered not in opposition to the Western one, but rather in their dialectical unity, as complementary vectors in the development of humanity’s spiritual experience. This methodological approach is illustrated through the textbook Worldview and Values of the Russian World, published in 2025, which demonstrates the practical relevance and contemporary significance of the ideas of Russian philosophers. Their visions of a future Russia are presented as value-based guidelines capable of preserving cultural and civilisational identity in the context of globalisation and the anthropological crisis.
